HAT ALTITUDE TEAM

DENVER TRIATHLON & ENDURANCE TEAM

Looking to join an endurance/triathlon team in Denver that trains HARD, has FUN, and builds lasting RELATIONSHIPS? Then HAT Altitude Team might be the right place for you! We believe in creating an environment where, although we have varying abilities, every member is equally valuable. We don’t just want the fastest athletes on our team – we want ones who will contribute to our secret sauce, and that’s our team culture.

All of our athletes are like-minded in their support of one another as well as themselves, their desire to constantly improve, and their pursuit to #getgoldoutofeveryday!

  • TRIATHLON

  • ROAD RUNNING

  • ROAD CYCLING

  • TRAIL RUNNING

  • GRAVEL CYCLING

Our team works in two tiers:

Coached Athletes

Receive a weekly personalized training plan from Coach T. Written just for you, workouts are assigned are based on your goals and fitness level of course, but also your work schedule, external stressors, recent performance, weekend plans, and so on.

Athletes may apply for consideration for a Coached slot in October, once the Colorado race season ends and athletes are starting to get a jump on off-season training for the following year.

Ambassadors

Do not receive a coaching plan. Ambassador positions are great for those who are in a position where they prefer flexibility with their workouts over accountability to their coach or teammates. Ambassadors join us for all team events that they’d like but with fewer expectations.

Also great for athletes who are new to the team or those joining in the middle of the race season. We like to ease new athletes into the training schedule, let them get used to the routine, establish a base foundation of fitness, and get a feel for the coach/athlete relationship between themselves and Coach T.

Keep reading to see if our team is a good fit for what you’re looking for, and please contact Coach T if you’re interested in joining or learning more!

What Makes HAT Altitude Team Different

Team Culture

Our culture is everything to us! We believe athletes are able to push harder when they’re suffering together, and that teammates who care about one another will get the most out of each other. The bonds that our members build are what make our team a fun, positive, and motivational environment so that everyone can reach their potential as an athelte.

Accountability from Your Coach

When you’re coached by HAT Altitude Team, you can expect to see me, Coach T, at every team workout, usually training right alongside you in Denver. This frequent face-to-face interaction is where our coaching is different from other programs and allows me to really KNOW my athletes personally. I believe that coaching is as much an art as it is a science of programming workouts, and unless coaches REALLY know and start to understand how their athletes tick, giving them generic workouts on a Training Peaks program will not fully develop the athletes depending on their personal strengths, weaknesses, and mental attitude towards training.

Connection to the Endurance Community

We believe in not just reaping the benefits of being in such a great endurance community that Denver and Colorado provide us, but also in contributing back. You’ll see us volunteering at races throughout the season and helping represent our amazing sponsors whenever we can. We wouldn’t be as successful as we are without either of these things and it’s our responsibility to do our part in giving back.

    What Our Athletes Can Expect

    To Be Treated

Not based on how fast you are but on how well you uphold our team values – attitude, accountability, and support of others. Everyone wants to get faster and stronger, and we proudly send athletes to IM Worlds every season, but here you can expect to be judged based on your contribution, not your times.

    Workouts

In large groups, solo, or anything in between. Weekday team spin classes are held 2-3 times/week depending on the season, weekends typically consist of long rides and runs as a group, and athletes are responsible for coordinating their other workouts alone or can simply text a teammate!

    Team Races

Every season we vote on a team race for that summer. Usually, it’s a 70.3 that we all travel to, get a shared house, and plan some activities around that weekend. Of course, this is not mandatory and we also race many smaller local events as a group as well.

    Team Sponsorships

We love supporting our sponsors in turn for the support we receive from them and taking advantage of some of the best nutrition, recovery, gear, etc. on. the market!

    Most Importantly, A Family

In this sport – a group of like-minded people who constantly push and lift each other up, and a coach that cares about the development of you as an athlete and as a person (and understands those two are often intertwined), can be a difference maker in your training.

    HAT ALTITUDE TEAM HQ

Our Team HQ is located at 1685 S. Colorado Blvd. J, Denver, 80222, in the basement of the Runners Roost. You are always invited to swing by and look at our training area which is set up specifically for our athletes. We offer 5am and 6:30am morning sessions to allow you to get to work on time. We aim to make training accessible so that it fits into your already existing lifestyle, and not something to try and layer ON TOP of your already chaotic and demanding life.
